Rahdo, your statement regarding the “fundamental sickness of the American society” is exactly why people like AJ and (myself) don’t like bringing politics into certain areas of our lives. This is an entertainment channel, not a news or political channel. While you are entitled to your opinions and believes, when you insult people that don’t agree with everything you believe in, you are part of the problem. I’m a centrists with stronger convictions than others on both sides of the aisle. When you insult people or lump people together as being bad or corrupt just because the don’t agree with you is exactly the problem dividing us and is why so many people are anxious about speaking about politics in open and public forums. Extreme leftist react to Maga hats the same way the extreme rightist react to BLM and Pride clothing and flags. Neither side is right for doing this. Calling all of one group evil is counter productive and divisive. Wearing your believes on your body and then getting upset when someone calls you out on their level of comfort is a bullying tactic. It also comes off as confrontational when you react is the way that was done with this video. Supporting under represented people is a wonderful and noble thing to do. Talking down to people that don’t support human rights in the same exact way you do is bullying. I’m sorry, Rahdo, but your response and mentality that you are either for us or against us was truly disappointing. I watched your channel for entertainment purposes and because I appreciated your insights on board games, not your politics. You are an entertainer, not a politician. If politics are that important to you, I would suggest you start a political podcast or channel so that you can express your self that way. I did not care what clothes you wore, but your response video and attack on AJ and “American society” is very disappointing. Being inclusive means respecting all people, not just the people that agree with you.

I feel like the cap on scoring adventure cards with dwellings feels weirdly high in a competitive setting. Everyone is going to make 3+ dwellings anyway and probably 4-6 realistically. Who is going to play more than 12 adventure cards? The tiles will run out at 7 trips to the dungeon so that means if one person went to the dungeon all 7 times they only collect 14 cards max and everyone else 0. I may be in the minority but I feel like it should have been a cap on the element type of cards themselves in order to make people more selective with balancing where to dwell vs which cards to get instead of just (I need a purple card so I'll keep getting purple element for my highest elemental powervs what's on the card).

Perhaps, to elaborate, AJ could mean that they know a bunch of people who do nothing but squabble about certain issues when theyre together, and maybe AJ does not have enough knowledge, or simply doesnt care to engage in the topic and become part of the bickering. I think you had a good point when you said try to see it from other peoples perspective... Which is something i think people should do more of! Perfect example... I am very vocal about my stance on vaccines, big pharma, and the medical profession. I am sick and tired of hearing co workers voice their uninformed and sometimes uneducated opinions about stuff that happened during the pandemic. I have heard these people talk badly about the unvaccinated people, as if their lives were worthless and they were the cause of all the negative stuff that happe ed throughout the pandemic, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME they were preaching that people need to get along and stick together during such times! Even now that much of what these people I know have said has turned out to be completely untrue and nothing but BS, not once have I heard any of those people apologize, or acknowledge that "ya know... Maybe I was being hippocritical and I didnt have all the facts!" Perhaps AJ is just tired of these people and just prefers that their honby time be free of noise! I can definitely relate! Yes! More people should learn to see things from other's perspectives! Theres a Middle Eastern proverb that goes something like "i wish my neck were as long as a camel's. That way, i would have time to think about what Im saying before my words leave my lips!" (It sounds a lot more poetic in Arabic!)

I hate dealing and negotiating (real life and games) so I ended up really disliking this game.

The reason I would not want to play a game with a maga wearing person (or Gestapo officer in uniform for that matter) is not because I think I would implicitly support their message or side. I would not want to play with them because they are not a person I would want to be associated with in any way. I don't think they are good humans. As opposed btw to playing with a Reagan/Romney voting conservative with whom I had no issues to play games with or have a good political conversation with. And I feel that one thing that maga people don't get, just how much they are part of a dangerous identity cult that has absolutely nothing to do with traditional conservatism.

I DID grow up listening to Right Wing talk radio, I did grow up as a strident conservative. At the time the right was very hesitant to embrace the racist and misogynistic voices in the herd. I was able to just say “well, they are the crazies, I’m just for small government!!!”. It started to become very obvious around 2003 that those voices were taking over. I then addressed my cognitive dissonance and realized I didn’t actually believe any of that stuff. It’s all brainwashing. I can’t actively support people whose foundational platform is the hate, exclusion and marginalization of minorities and women.

Just wanted to put a comment here to show my support. You're probably the boardgame influencer that are closest to me when it comes to values and politics and I appreciate that you (unlike some other large channels that I don't need to name) speak your opinion loudly and proudly instead of not wanting to say where you stand when it comes to human rights issues for fear of loosing subs. I'd also love to see a big games in small boxes top ten or something. Some I can think of without googling a bunch are Villager/City/Moon, Wild Space and Villages of Valeria (which is getting a remake I hear, hopefully not in a too big box!)

Two years ago, I was only a big fan of board games and watched your videos every week to learn new games, decide what to buy, etc. You are one of my reference and this is why watching one of my drawings in your video is something incredible. The second is your message. Everything you said in your first response is absolutely fundamental for me. I'm hundred percent agree with you and this time is more important than ever. I got some time this game now but it has some issues. Solo is pretty hard. The point is to get as many points as possible in less turns as possible. But as a gamer you want to play much as possible. It is also very different then competitive. Since in competitive you want to max out. While doing this it does not effect your opponents. While in solo when you do this the automa keeps going too. Also there is the luck of drawing the right combinations for end game scoring (wich are pretty much needed since they can give alot of points). Someone who is getting the cards from the regular drawing has an advantage. Because people who do not most of the time need to use a witch to draw cards. So they have a witch less to do other stuff.

Totally agree about UBI, politics etc, and glad you have the guts to talk about them, when so many people wouldn't, and don't and won't. And treat you as a weirdo if you do. Total respect: you are definitely a JEDI.

Well I appreciate that you did wear Black Lives Matter shirts. I had no idea and now I appreciate it more. Everything is political. In all that we do. It matters and it impacts everyone and everything in society. I can’t afford to ignore politics. Because Iam direct effected by all the terrible things that are happening now.

AJ mentions your shirts but didn’t mention any specific one - just that they “are not even one who appreciated the messages”, they also mention they were disheartened that you lost viewers as a result of the shirts. The BLM shirt and issue was brought up a few times specifically in this video though, but AJ never references a specific political issue they opposed, they also mention agreeing with some of the T-shirts you wore - maybe the BLM was one of them? I took AJ’s message to be more about the fact they feel there is a time and a place for political discussions, and that the boardgame hobby for them isn’t one of them - so they didn’t enjoy that about your content and they conveyed this to you, however they praised your contributions otherwise several times and I felt given the sensitive subject matter this was quite a respectful submission on their part. We all come to the hobby for different reasons, for them it appears the hobby is an escape from being bombarded by the divisive nature of modern media and enjoying a social experience with people with a common interest. AJ mentions “when we disagree even slightly, feelings are hurt and friendships damaged”. I mean this with no disrespect at all, but the Hi and Goodbye opening line though I fear may have proved AJ’s above statement correct.
